Agritech is the use of technology in agriculture, horticulture, and aquaculture with the aim of improving yield, efficiency, and profitability. Agritech can be products, services or applications derived from agriculture that improve various input/output processes.
CITIG has an extensive list of partners in this category, a few examples are described:
Following extensive use of pesticides over the years, insects have developed a strong resistance to poisonous substances. This has led to the use of products in increasingly higher concentrations and containing even stronger poisons to which pests develop further resistance. We are trapped in a vicious circle where the environment becomes polluted, but pests still enter the food web.
The result is a major global ecological problem. Therefore, an AgriTech company was founded in order to develop an innovative approach to meeting the growing demand for safe, environmentally friendly and effective pesticides.
“Many researchers and professionals around the world warn of worldwide starvation by 2050.”
Less and less cultivated land will have to supply more food for the population, which is expected to grow two- or threefold by then.

A Unique AgriTech company is here to fill the gap between aerial inspections and traditional fieldwork. Visible, NIR, NDVI and more aerial data can produce prescription maps to aid growers in determining crop stress levels, growth indicators, temperature effects, water, fertilizer variation and more.
The company has a Precision Agriculture team that has designed a platform from which growers can determine the suitability of croplands for detecting diseases and other stress-related conditions. Specific spectral data gives information in order to rapidly survey the land below. The data is immediately actionable, indicating growers overall vegetative health, where and when to plant their valuable crops and irrigation management.
Another one of our AgriTech partners has technology to take Seed to Feed in 7 days, no fertilizers or nutrients for growth
One of the CITIG partners utilizes technology via Biocontrol which covers plant protection methods through natural mechanisms as part of an integrated management against crop pests, and is a realistic and sustainable alternative to using pesticides. Chemical mediators or semiochemical substances (generally referred to as pheromones) and their applications against crop pests are aspects of Biocontrol.
A few of our partners operate in the domain of Acquaculture.Aquaculture, also known as aquafarming, is the farming of fish, crustaceans, molluscs, aquatic plants, algae, and other organisms. Aquaculture involves cultivating freshwater and saltwater populations under controlled conditions, and can be contrasted with commercial fishing, which is the harvesting of wild fish.
Aquaculture is expanding to meet the world fish demand
Aquaculture companies are working to:
